Shayla Woolsey
they/them
Theatre Artist
be the joy you want in the world.
to those of you who continue to chase your dreams despite everything— this one is for you.
Born and raised in the small town of Greenwood, Arkansas, Shay (they/them) got a late start to acting at 15 in their high school’s musical theatre class. Finding a love for story telling through song and dance, they continued their education in theatre at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. Shay looks to explore joy, beauty, silliness, love, depth, and the ins and outs of the human experience in their work. Additionally, in being a proud lesbian Asian American, they want to amplify queer and BIPOC voices through the art they do. Chicago bound, Shay plans to continue their passionate work in the theater in a way that honors their inner child.
In doing this, they hope to put a smile on your face and get a laugh out your lips!
